how to travel for months on end affordably

When people think of traveling the world, most tend to mummer something like... "if only i had the money." but if you're smart about it, you can travel for months on end, even years on only a few thousand dollars.
Let's take Peru for an example(because it is what i know). You could get away with staying there for only $5 per night, $2 per meal, and come away with priceless memories that you'll never forget! As far as overland travel goes, you can travel by bus for some pretty ridiculously cheap prices.

step 1-eliminate or cover your monthly expenses.
this would be the biggest part if you plan on staying out of country for longer than a month or two. this means paying off your home, car, or whatever; or you can rent out your home.

step 2- buy your one-way ticket 6 months early (preferably cash not credit as not to add to your monthly bills. (DEBT FREE IS THE WAY TO BE!!!) do nothing but save money between now and your departure. hold two jobs if you want.
MOST PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW LUCKY WE ALL ARE TO HAVE BEEN BORN IN A DEVELOPED NATION!!! What takes us just a month or so to make $1000+ takes other folks from developing nations a full year. this is why extended travel would be best suited for up-and-coming economies like those in Latin America or Asia and Africa.

step 3- while you're making the extra money to get away, read up on where you're going and where you'll want to end your trip. it would be best if you could fly in with a cheap ticket, and fly out with a cheap ticket since you'll probably spend more on a plane ticket than you'll spend in your host nations in a month!

you can figure out the rest.

how to become a millionaire in 26 years or less

step 1
the goal here is to set yourself up for a household income of at least $50,000after taxes.
college, technical training, military, marriage(so you can work together)... it doesn't matter, just get that income.

step 2
Let's talk about mortgages. Do you REALLY want to spend the best 30 or more young years of your life worried about home payments when you could be out seeing the world or bodysurfing on weekdays?
buy a REALLY cheap home in town, or build something out in the boonies where land is cheap. if you listen to the simple solar guy, you're on your way.
http://www.simplesolarhomesteading.com/, http://containerist.com/ check out these links. it's possible to to build a real nice setup for under $10,000. you can pay off your home in a year!

step 3
with no mortgage to pay down, you'll have money coming out of your ears. your only obligations will be your bills and you'll be just fine living off of $1,000 a month.
It will take you 26.3 years to save up $1,000,000 if you put away 38,000 per year. but with pay raises, promotions and bonuses... you do the math.

The way i see it, either you can become a millionaire, or have a bad-ass lifestyle where you're not worried about things like getting laid off or keeping a roof over your head. once your home is paid off, you could probably get away with making 20,000, and be better off than most. why not travel?

debt reduction

This morning, i came across this dude that was pitching financial advice. He said something that i really haven't heard before. "Sell your belongings to get out of debt." some of you may be laughing at me right now, but I've never heard or thought of this concept. It's so simple!
I gave it a few minutes to sink in, took inventory of everything that can be sold on craigslist, and found out that there is a lot of money to be made here! Right under my nose I've got $6000 worth of shit, that's been stinking up my savings-to-debt ratio. I just put my bike up for sale and am about to put up a lot more.
